Seven years ago, Bawah met Zinabu on one of his trips to Mfensi, and realizing Zinabu to be of the same tribe, he declared his intention to marry her as the third wife.

But after living together for some years without the man paying the dowry, Zinabu decided to opt out of the relationship.

“He informed me one afternoon that he has the intention of going for a 4th wife and wanted to know my take. But I strongly disagreed with him because for the past 7 years he has not paid my bride price yet wanted to marry another woman, I will not understand,” Zinabu narrated on Nhyira Fm’s Obra Show.

The quest of Bawah to marry another woman infuriated Zinabu, who demanded compensation from the man for her to go her way.

But Bawah will not agree to Zinabu’s proposition.

“I went to the North and performed all duties as custom demands when her father died. Afterwards I wanted to marry her at the North but she refused. Since then, any time there is little misunderstanding she will pack her belongings and go live in a container. I can count about 20 times of such. For the past six months now she has been living there. I want to marry her but she has been using one thing or the other as an excuse and if she is not interested to marry again, I have nothing to say but I will not compensate her,” said Bawah.

Zinabu however says she will rather go her separate way, even without the compensation, than to contend with a 4th wife.

The ‘Mankrado’ at Onomabo in the Eastern region has dragged a Junior High School (JHS) 3 pupil to the Abusuapanyin, Kwaku Aye for farting near his house.

Accra-based UTV reports that Mankrado is also demanding that a GH₵50 fine be imposed on the 18-year-old pupil and a sheep taken.

All apologies and pleas for forgiveness from the boy’s mother have proven futile as the Mankrado is bent on having his demands met.

Mr Aye is said to have dismissed the case which he believed had no basis.

The incensed Mankrado is said to have also engaged the Abusuapanyin in a dramatic confrontation.

Meanwhile, there are speculations among residents who have been taken aback by the incident that Mankrado has seized the opportunity to renew a long standing feud.

A Nicaraguan woman had to be buried for the second time after her family exhumed her body because they thought she was still alive.

María López, 24, died on February 11 at New Dawn Hospital in the Caribbean coast town of Waspam and was buried February 12, according to local outlet SNC.

On February 15, her parents had her coffin dug out from her burial site at a cemetery last Thursday after someone called their daughter’s cellphone claiming López ‘was still alive.’

López’s body was removed from the coffin and taken to the family residence, where she was bathed with salt, vinegar, and lemons and then placed the body on a bed as family and friends held a vigil.

A New Dawn Hospital doctor visited the home after some family members raised the idea that López was pregnant, but the physician tested her and confirmed that she was dead.

Waspam’s city risk management director Kenny Mayorga said the family was not convinced by the doctor and opted for her to ‘be examined by a traditional doctor and rule out that she is dead, because they claim that the girl (had) tears and sweat to her forehead.’

The family held prayer services for five days, in hopes that López would somehow resuscitate.

Her parents and close family members then took López’s body to a fasting and prayer center for a ceremony as it started to show signs of decomposition and laid her to rest for a second time on Monday.

The incident comes just eight months after 76-year-old woman shocked her family by banging on her coffin during her wake in Ecuador.

Bella Montoya reportedly woke up and started knocking after spending five hours inside her coffin at a funeral parlor in the municipality of Babahoyo on June 9, 2023.

Montoya died from a stroke on June 16 at Martín Icaza Hospital after spending a week in intensive care.

A footballer has died after being struck by a lightning bolt while playing football in Indonesia on Saturday.

Video captured the exact moment the 35-year-old male victim from Subang collapsed at Siliwangi Stadium in Bandung, West Java.

The man, later identified as Septain Raharja, was competing in a friendly football match between 2 FLO FC Bandung and FBI Subang, when lightning struck him at around 4:20pm local time on Saturday.

Reports by local media PRFM News say that he was still breathing after the incident and rushed to a local hospital, but died after suffering intense burns.

The video clip has since gone viral on social media, with football fans and players offering their condolences.

‘RIP to that player,’ commented one X user.

‘This is the stuff of my nightmares. I lived through the San Francisco ‘Quake of ’89’ that ended game 3 of the Baseball World Series,’ wrote another.

A third replied: ‘That’s awful and condolences. In my referee days I always kept an eye on the weather, it’s in the FIFA manual I believe. For exactly this reason. Don’t know if that was possible here or if there was a ref. This video will make it’s way to FIFA and ref associations everywhere.’

Several teams in Indonesia were seen taking a moment of silence in Septain’s memory.

A match between FBI Mageland and Erka began with players bowing their heads to commemorate the fallen sportsman.

An analysis of the strike by Indonesia’s Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) revealed that the cloud the lightning came from was just 300m above the stadium when it struck.

The tragic incident is the second time an Indonesian footballer has been struck by lightning in the last 12 months.

A young football player in Bojonegoro, East Java was struck by lightning during the Soeratin U-13 Cup in 2023.

The player, who suffered cardiac arrest, was rushed off the field and taken to the Ibnu Sina Hospital in Bojonegoro for medical treatment.

The youngster was successfully revived after medical assistance and regained consciousness after approximately 20 minutes.

She aroused suspicion with this weapon of mass seduction.

A female plane passenger was left mortified after a vibrator began buzzing in her suitcase shortly before takeoff, with crew ordering her to disembark the aircraft and reveal the noisy contents of her carry-on.

The embarrassing ordeal was filmed by the flyer’s friend and posted to TikTok, where the footage has clocked up 12.5 million views.

“When the whole plane wants to know why your suitcase is vibrating,” a caption on the viral video reads.

According to Jam Press, the passenger in the clip is influencer Amanda Diaz Rojas, who boasts 250,000 followers on social media.

In the footage, Rojas’ suitcase starts buzzing, with flight attendants asking her to take it down from the overhead locker to see what was amiss.

In the uproarious clip, the red-faced brunette can be seen squatting over her silver suitcase as she laughs with embarrassment.

Then, heeding crewmember instructions, Rojas departs the airplane and opens the suitcase on the jetway.

The clip concludes with her switching off the automated pleasure provider — one of several in her bag — as the airline staff collapses into giggles.

The TikTok commentariat was amused by the incident, with one saying they would be “mortified.”

“She makes sure she packs the essentials,” another quipped.

“I love how the plane crew was laughing with them,” a third tickled viewer wrote.

Meanwhile, one pundit urged Rojas to “take the damn batteries out” of the X-rated electronic item before boarding next time.

According to guidelines outlined by the Transportation Security Administration, electronic sex toys are allowed in both carry-on and checked bags, but the “final decision rests with the TSA officer on whether an item is allowed through the checkpoint.”

Either way, it’s important to take special precautions to avoid embarrassing situations such as the aforementioned.

These include removing batteries before the flight, checking sex toys rather than carrying them on and opting for smaller, less conspicuous sexcessories that won’t stand out on the security monitor, per a recent piece by Travel and Leisure magazine.

It’s also important to play it cool to avoid arousing suspicion.

In the event that a TSA agent finds their device in the bag, passengers should remain calm and, well, “own it,” per the mag.

“The best thing you can do is tell the truth,” they write. “Traveling with a vibrator says that you’re comfortable with your sexuality and there is nothing wrong with that. Be confident and comfortable, and you’ll save yourself from any more questions or probing.”

Lastly, certain countries like India, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, the Maldives, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates impose restrictions on adult toys.

Therefore it behooves travelers to do research before flying to avoid having one’s sex toys confiscated.

A Phoenix woman who was arrested last spring for allegedly stalking a man she had gone out on a single date with sent him more than 159,000 text messages, including some threatening violence and dismemberment.

At the time of her arrest in May 2018 on counts of stalking and criminal trespassing, police said Jacquelyn Ades, 31, peppered the victim with 65,000 texts over the course of 10 months.

It has now been reported by The Arizona Republic, which has reviewed police reports and videotaped police interviews, that the number of missives, many of them sadistic in nature, was more than double that.

Ades, a licensed beautician from Florida, met the unnamed victim, identified only as the CEO of a Scottsdale-area company that sells skincare products, through the dating site Luxy, which bills itself as a dating service for millionaires.

The two went out together once, but the man was not interested in pursuing a relationship with Ades, documents stated. Despite that, the woman continued sending him text messages, sometimes up to 500 a day.

The businessman contacted police in July 2017 when he spotted Ades parked outside his Paradise Valley home.

Before long, Ades allegedly began inundating the object of her apparent obsession with increasingly threatening messages, including one that read,’I’d make sushi outta ur kidneys n chopsticks outta ur hand bones.’

Another disturbing text stated: ‘I’d wear ur fascia n the top of ur skull n ur hands n feet.’

Fascia is a thin layer of fibrous tissue enclosing muscles and organs.

A third menacing missive declared: ‘oh what would I do w ur blood! Id wanna bathe in it.’

Ades’ arrest records indicate that the woman was ‘showing signs of mental illness.’

In April 2018, the victim was remotely checking his home surveillance video when he spotted Ades.

Police officers went to the home and found the 31-year-old woman taking a bath in the man’s tub.

When police searched Ades’ car, they found a large butcher knife on the passenger seat.

When asked by police to explain her presence inside the man’s home, Ades replied: ‘I guess that I made up a whole scenario in my head where I live here, so I came here and pretended that’s what was happening.’

The victim said after that incident, Ades sent him more threatening texts, one of which stated: ‘You do whatever you have to do to get here… but don’t ever try to leave me… I’ll kill you… I don’t want to be a murderer.’

In her messages to the object of her desire, Ades allegedly favorably compared herself to Adolf Hitler and praised the Nazi mass murderer as a ‘genius,’ as Fox 10 reported last year.

In May, Ades showed up at the man’s business in Scottsdale pretending to be his wife, which ultimately led to her arrest in Phoenix.

After being taken into custody, Ades reassured police that she had no intention of hurting the man, saying that ‘something came over her’ when she sent the threatening texts.

She also claimed that her disturbing missives, including the one about the fascia, were funny.

A Tanzanian woman named Elsie has bravely shared her journey of living with a rare condition called Hirsutism, which causes her to grow facial hair.

Living with Hirsutism since childhood, Elsie revealed that she has encountered difficulties, including being mistaken for a transgender by many who do not understand her condition.

She narrated how men often shy away from dating or falling in love with her because of her facial hair, fearing that she may not be a “real” woman.

Elsie explained that men frequently inquire about her gender, questioning if she is a transgender woman rather than a cisgender female.

This misconception often leads to lost interest from potential partners once they discover her facial hair.

Despite the challenges she faces, Elsie has embraced herself for who she is and believes that her unique appearance serves a purpose in God’s plan.

She emphasized that she is no different from any other woman and has accepted herself as a natural creation of God.

“I accepted myself because it’s natural. I was given by God. But there are a lot of challenges that I do face. Some people think I am transgender, but I would like to clarify that I am a woman. I have been blessed with one daughter and I am just okay. Many people wonder when they see me because I look different, but I am just like any other woman. Men fear me and they go around asking my friends if I am a real woman or transgender,” Elsie bravely shared.

A Nasarawa housewife whose name was simply given as Doris has alleged that her husband cheated on her with her mother.

The Nation reported that, the woman said the lid on the secret affair between her 46-year-old husband and her mother was blown open by her six-year-old son.

The publication reported that, Doris’ mother, Madam Cynthia (surname withheld), did not deny the romance between her and her son-in-law when her daughter confronted her with the allegation.

She reportedly told her daughter that she was in a relationship with her son-in-law (her daughter’s husband), Joseph, before they got married, and it was the best romance opportunity she had 20 years after she lost her husband.

Madam Cynthia said;

“My husband died about 20 years ago, and I never found another man of my dreams until I met Joseph. He is a kind and generous gentleman. He is also very strong and very good in bed.

“He gave me the most satisfaction I ever had with a man in bed. Because of that, I did not want to lose his company, so I recommended him to you (Doris). I insisted that he must get married to you so you could have a taste of what he is made of.”

28-year-old Doris got married to Joseph, a sales manager with a private company, oblivious to the fact that he and her mother were dating.

They got married while she was based in Keffi as a student at Nasarawa State University. She didn’t know about the affair because she was not visiting Lafia regularly and when she did during the holidays, she took up some casual jobs in Keffi despite her mother’s thriving restaurant business.

Their affair came to light on January 18, when Madam Cynthia visited her daughter’s matrimonial home.

Joseph was said to have moved to Nyanyan for the sake of proximity to his wife for whom he had secured a civil service job in Abuja.

Joseph and his mother-in-law (Cynthia) decided to engage in fresh sessions of romance during the visit. Unfortunately, their six-year-old son ran into them in one of the sessions and later let the cat out of the bag.

Narrating the incident, Doris said;

“I met my husband through my mother in Lafia in 2018. I had just completed NYSC and she introduced him to me as someone who was very good and generous and would never maltreat me.

“Looking at Joseph, although he was not too young, he actually appeared gentle and promising. He would come to my mother’s restaurant every evening after the close of work, but I never suspected that he was also going out with my mother.

“She actually hid her main reason for linking the two of us together. My mother did not want my husband to get married to another woman basically because of his sexual prowess and kindness.

“To my admiration, Joseph actually showed commitment, making sure that all my needs were met even without me asking.

“Within a short time, he proved to me that he was actually a good man in addition to what my mother told me.

“We eventually got married in 2018, and two years later, we relocated to New Nyanyan because he had secured a civil service job for me in Abuja and also opened a salon for me.

“I have three kids and I am presently four months pregnant. My mother, a very careful woman, had told me after my marriage that she felt fulfilled that I got married to Joseph.

“She was always coming on visits, and would always ask whether I was enjoying my marriage. And I truly was enjoying it, because my husband did make life easy for me and my kids.

“She was always calling or visiting, and I thought it was because I am her only child. When I gave birth to my first son, she was very excited and often came to help out with house chores.

“She was always taking care of my kids who she loves so much. It was as if she was living together with us. We live in a three-bedroom apartment, so there was enough space for her to stay for as long as she wanted.

“On January 13, my mother came around and it coincided with the time my husband took a week off to rest at home. It never occurred to me that my husband’s one-week rest was tactically planned to coincide with my mother’s coming.

“The setting in my matrimonial home was the best for them because of the kids. They took care of the kids while I went to work, but I did not know that they were also taking care of themselves.

“My mum loves a particular brand of alcohol while my husband also likes a brand of wine, which he always ensured was in the refrigerator.

“So while I was away to work and the kids had gone to school, they kept each other company with their drinks. It never occurred to me that their relationship was beyond mother-in-law and son-in-law.

“On Thursday, January 18, I returned from work and my eldest son came into my room as I was pulling off my dress. He looked worried and confused, so I asked whether his aunty beat him in school or he was not given food, but he said nothing.

“When I prodded him further, he told me that he saw his father and grandmother fighting naked in the visitor’s room and grandma was crying while daddy was on top of her.

“I asked how he got to know, and he said that when he returned from school, grandma bathed him and he slept off after eating because he was tired.

“He said that when he woke up, he went to check on Grandma (Madam Cynthia) in her room and found that she and her father were fighting naked and Grandma was crying under him.

“Obviously, they did not lock the door. He said his father ordered him to go out immediately. Although I was shocked at the revelation, I managed to control my anger and inquire to know more of what went wrong in my absence.

“My son’s claims were actually not unexpected because of my mother’s constant visit to us and her unusual closeness to my husband.

“They were so close and were always in the sitting room together. But another thought came into my mind: the two of them had known each other before I came in, and I actually met my husband through my mother.

“I walked swiftly across the house and into my mother’s room and asked if there was something going on between her and my husband.

“She could not deny the allegation and that caused me to start shedding tears. I just did not know where the tears were coming from.

“My mother calmed me down and narrated the story of her relationship with Joseph and why she insisted that I should marry him.

“She said she got hooked on my husband because he was very good in bed in addition to his good nature. In fact, she described my husband as a Maradona in bed.

“She said that every woman would like such a man and she did not want me to miss out on him because those are the traits that sustain marriages.

“She said she would have felt cheated if Danjuma had married another woman, and that was why she persuaded me to marry him.

“She actually believed she was doing the best for me.

“Yes, the bible says honour thy father and mother, but what do you do with a mother who didn’t even honour her daughter’s wedding vows?

“Before I could say anything, she knelt down and said she was sorry I found out about their relationship the way I did, but she was not sorry she got both of us together.

“She said I should be grateful for our stable home and healthy children, adding that she did what she did because she was hungry for sex, particularly with Joseph.

“My mother confessed that on that particular day, they were together in the parlour when she suddenly grabbed Joseph and dragged him into her room.

“She said there was a flurry of actions without words. Unfortunately, my eldest son came in while they were in the thick of action. I couldn’t send my mother away because the children genuinely love her and she is a good grandmother.

“I used to be happy and grateful to her for giving me a husband that understands how to keep a woman. My husband is indeed very good in bed, and I thank my mother for bringing him into my life. But she should not have insisted on sharing him with me.

“I like him because he asks me out, opens the door for me, pours me drinks, offers me his jacket, kisses me and says good night. So I need to be his wife all the days of my life.

“His libido is very active. His weak point is his nipples. Once you suck them, he becomes like a lion ready to devour its prey.

“He is someone that can take me on for as long as I want. His sexual prowess is not in doubt. But my mother is not allowing me to enjoy my man alone.

“How can my husband be sleeping with me and my mother? It is wrong, shameful and abominable. I am in distress and I don’t know how to handle the matter.

“It would have been better for my husband to get a girlfriend than sleep with me and my mum.

“It is very shameful and an abomination of the highest order. It is wrong of her and it will be very shameful if people get to know about it.

“When I left my mum in her room and went back to my room wondering on how to approach my husband on his return, I’m sure my mother had informed him about my approach to her.

“So when he returned to the house, he looked calm and guilt was written all over him.

“When I finally asked him about his affair with my mum, he tried to adjourn the discussion to a later date, but I insisted.

“He then sat me down and narrated how he had known my mother while I was away in school, and it was through their relationship that my mother nursed the idea of connecting us for marriage.

“Having monitored my attitude, she strongly believed that I could give her daughter the desired comfort. So whatever has happened now was not planned. Let me call it a devilish act.

“He confirmed to me that the only mistake he made was to have succumbed to the pressure from my mum. He really apologised and pleaded with me not to take it to heart no matter the level of anger.

“Although I am still grappling with this nightmare in my life, I have to control my emotions as I don’t want to leave my marriage because of this terrible thing.

“I can’t also stop my mum from visiting us. She loves my children and cares so much about them, and I’m her only daughter. I don’t actually know what to do, though my husband has been begging me to forgive and forget.

“My sickness currently is from the mind. I’m so confused. The emotional pains are too much for me to bear.”

It was also gathered that her friend asked her to let it go in the recorded conversation. She said;

“Please, don’t react angrily. It is not a matter of public consumption. Don’t let your marriage crash because of this abominable act. Think of your kids and swallow it because of them.”

Rwandan man has allegedly lived in isolation for 55 years because of an ‘extreme fear of women’.

Callixte Nzamwita, who is reportedly 71-years-old, has allegedly spent the last 55 years in self-imposed exile, barricading himself inside his home to avoid any contact with women.

Mr Nzamwita reportedly began isolating himself at the age of 16, meaning he does everything from sleeping and cooking, even urinating, in the space of his own confined abode.

A fear of women, called gynophobia, is not officially recognised as a genuine mental disorder, but is clinically classified as a specific phobia.

In a YouTube video published by Afrimax TV, Mr Nzamwitza said: ‘The reason I locked myself inside here and have a fence on my house is because I want to make sure that women will not come closer to me’.

Callixte Nzamwita, who is reportedly 71 years old, has allegedly spent the last 55 years in self-imposed exile, barricading himself in order to avoid any contact with women. Pictured: Nzamwita in his own self-barricaded house

A neighbour who spoke to Afrimax for their video said: ‘When we try to help him, he doesn’t want us to come closer or talk to him. Instead we give him things by tossing them into his house’.

They continued: ‘He doesn’t let us get close to him, but he still takes what we offer from a distance’.

Living such a secluded and solitary existence may appear to be an impossible challenge for most people, but Nzamwita appears to be satisfied with the life he is claimed to live.

Despite cutting a pale, sickly figure in the video, he appeared intent on continuing to live the way he has seemingly done for over half a century.

‘The way I live is enough for me. I didn’t have any idea of having a woman and I’m okay with that.

‘I do not want women around me because they make me really scared,’ he added.

A 48-year-old lawyer claims he is in love with his 103-year-old girlfriend, despite sceptics thinking their love isn’t real.

Mart Soeson, from Estonia, has been in a relationship with Elfriede Riit, 103, since 2013 and the couple lived together until she was forced to move into a nursing home in 2022.

Now, Soeson is pleading to stay in Australia to be with his older girlfriend.

Ms Riit, who was also born in Estonia, is the widow of Mr Soeson’s grandfather. She was his second wife and will celebrate her 104th birthday later in February.

Despite the fact that Ms Riit was married to his grandfather, Mr Soeson insists he is in love with her.

The couple insists their 55-year age gap is irrelevant and they should be allowed to continue their “exclusive committed long-term” romance for whatever time Ms Riit has left to live.

“What started out as a wholesome bond I had with my late grandfather’s widow slowly but surely turned into a very meaningful and loving relationship,” Mr Soeson told DailyMail in an exclusive interview.

“Yes, I know we have the age gap,” Mr Soeson told Daily Mail Australia. “And I know it’s an issue for some people. But generally, age gap is an issue in case of older woman and younger man. It’s never an issue in case of older man and young woman but I’m not able to change that attitude.”

It was not love at first sight and ‘nothing happened overnight’, according to Mr Soeson, but the pair soon became friends and that connection grew.

‘She offered me guidance and support and companionship,’ Mr Soeson wrote in a statutory declaration that forms part of his appeal.

‘We had much in common and many reasons to spend time together under the circumstances.’

Mr Soeson returned to Estonia but came back to Australia on holidays in 2000 and 2007 to see Ms Riit, for whom by then he ‘cared greatly’ and ‘missed immensely’.

‘During these two trips my bond with Elfriede grew stronger, and when I returned to Estonia I felt a sense of longing for Elfriede’s companionship,’ his statement said.

‘I enjoyed my visits immensely and seeing her made me feel much more fulfilled and happier in my life.

Mr Soeson was not formally told why the visa was rejected but believed the Department of Home Affairs was suspicious about the legitimacy of his relationship with Ms Riit

Mr Soeson was not formally told why the visa was rejected but believed the Department of Home Affairs was suspicious about the legitimacy of his relationship with Ms Riit

‘Upon returning from my trip to Austria in 2007 I could not shake the feeling that I was missing something in my life and that something was Elfriede.’

Mr Soeson took annual leave to make further trips to Sydney in 2008/09, 2009/10, 2010/11, 2011/12 and 2012/13 for the sole purpose of seeing Ms Riit.

During that last visit the pair recognised their feelings for each other had deepened and moved beyond friendship.

‘Having spent the last five holiday season together the relationship between Elfriede and I had become extremely close,’ Mr Soeson’s statement said.

‘Elfriede was completely in love with me and I was feeling the same way about her.’

Mr Soeson said Ms Riit showed her love for him by spending more time in the kitchen cooking his favourite dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

‘Elfriede and I also became physically closer, and she constantly hugged me and paid attention to me in ways that she hadn’t before,’ he said.

Mr Soeson considered his romantic relationship with Ms Riit to have commenced in January 2013 when she was 92 and he was 37.

‘Elfriede felt very lonely and helpless before we met,’ he said in his statement.

‘I brought the joy, happiness and security for her life since we started to share our life together.’

A Pennsylvania man has been stabbed to death by his neighbour for snoring loudly.

The incident came to light last Sunday evening in Upper Moreland Township, where police responded to the home of Christopher Casey after receiving a 911 call from him reporting a stabbing.

Cops discovered Casey’s neighbor, Robert Wallace, about 50 feet from the house with two knife wounds in his body. Casey was stabbed in the right thigh and police found blood inside and outside the residence.

Both men were rushed to a local hospital, where Wallace died. Casey was treated for his non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators were able to piece together that Wallace went over to Casey’s home that night and stepped onto his porch to detach a screen from one of the windows.

The duo had gotten into a heated argument, during which Casey produced a military-style knife, plunging the blade into Wallace twice. It was not clear how Casey suffered his wound. Police recovered the knife at the crime scene.

It was further learnt that the neighbors had been involved in an ongoing beef over Casey’s loud snoring, which could be heard through a wall shared by their connected homes.

Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele said Casey was arrested on Thursday, January 20, and charged with Third-Degree Murder, Voluntary Manslaughter and Possessing an Instrument of Crime. Casey is currently in custody, while being held on $1 million cash bail.

New Zealand Member of Parliament, Golriz Ghahraman, a prominent figure in the Green Party, has tendered her resignation amidst mounting accusations of shoplifting.

The allegations involve three instances of theft from two clothing stores, one in and another in Wellington.

The controversy escalated with the emergence of CCTV footage allegedly capturing Ms Ghahraman taking a designer handbag from an Auckland boutique, leading to her decision to step down on Tuesday.

In her resignation statement, Ms Ghahraman expressed remorse for her actions. She attributed her unusual behavior to potential work-related stress.

“I have let down a lot of people, and I am very sorry,” she stated, acknowledging that her actions fell short of the high standards expected from elected representatives.

While the 42-year-old politician has not faced criminal charges, she admitted in her resignation statement that her recent conduct is challenging to explain rationally.

Following a medical evaluation, she revealed insights from mental health professionals who associated her behavior to extreme stress response and previously unrecognized trauma.

“It’s not a behavior I can explain because it’s not rational in any way, and after medical evaluation, I understand I’m not well,” she said. “The mental health professional I see says my recent behavior is consistent with recent events giving rise to extreme stress response and relating to previously unrecognized trauma. The best thing for my mental health is to resign as a member of parliament and to focus on my recovery and to find other ways to work for positive change in the world.”

A Jehovah’s Witness has taken the country of Spain to the European Court of Human Rights for administering her a blood transfusion during surgery against her will.

Rosa Edelmira Pindo Mulla, an Ecuadorian woman living in Spain, claims to be a victim of “medical paternalism”, due to her nationality and religion.

In 2017, following a series of medical examinations, the 53-year-old woman was advised to undergo surgery.

In 2018, before the procedure, Pindo Mulla was presented with three documents to fill out – an advance directive, a long-term power of attorney, and an informed consent form.

She claims to have specifically mentioned in all three that she was a Jehovah’s Witness and that she refused to receive any kind of blood transfusion (blood, red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets or plasma), even at the cost of her own life.

After suffering a life-threatening hemorrhage during surgery, she received a blood transfusion, and she has been seeking justice ever since…

In March 2020, Rosa Edelmira Pindo Mulla filed an application with the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR), which rules on violations of the European Convention on Human Rights in the 46 countries that ratified it.

She had previously sought justice in a Madrid court of law, and at the Spanish Constitutional Court, but her case was dismissed by both.

The Spanish government was notified about the controversial case in March of 2021, and in the summer of last year, the Chamber to which the case had been allocated relinquished jurisdiction in favor of the Grand Chamber.

This sort of thing occurs due to a lack of jurisprudence or when the matter deserves a more in-depth examination.

The case has been making news headlines and sparking controversy for years, due to its complicated nature and ethical concerns.

Some believe that the woman’s attitude towards the people who saved her life, even against her will, is wrong, while others claim that any person’s wishes, no matter how extreme, should be respected as long as they don’t affect other people.

To further complicate things, the record of the events that occurred in June of 2018 is not quite clear. For example, the woman claims to have specifically made it clear both in writing and while talking to the hospital staff that she was firmly against blood transfusions due to religious reasons, even at the cost of her life.

However, following the operation, she was transferred to a hospital in Madrid, due to complications that involved hemorrhaging. She claims to have told the new doctor about her wishes regarding blood transfusions, but they did not respect them

On the other hand, the hospital claims that, considering Rosa Edelmira Pindo Mulla’s situation at the time, the anesthesiologist contacted the judge on duty for guidance, and they authorized any medical or surgical intervention necessary to save the patient’s life. The problem is that Rosa had given her consent for any medical intervention, except blood transfusion.

“The situation demanded a very rapid response,” insisted Nicolas Martínez, representative of the Spanish government, but Rosa’s lawyers claimed that she was a victim.

“A South American immigrant who speaks Spanish with an accent, and a member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses, who are often the subject of prejudice and stereotypes, Pindo Mulla was an easy target for this medical paternalism,” the woman’s lawyers said, adding that all she wanted was “to be treated in accordance with her conscience”.

The Grand Chamber of the European Court of Human Rights is currently deliberating, and a sentence is expected in several months.

The family of a popular hairdresser at Jema in Western Region, Afia Amoakoaa, popularly known as Maafia, has vehemently rejected reports of her death, insisting that divine intervention is needed.

Afia was pronounced dead by a medical doctor at Jema Government Hospital, but the family, convinced that she was still alive, took her body to a prayer camp for a miraculous revival.

The family engaged in fervent prayers at the camp, seeking a miracle for the hairdresser.

However, after several hours of fruitless attempts, they reluctantly returned her body to the mortuary.

Justifying their actions, some family members, including the Assembly member for the area, said Afia’s body felt warm and too fresh to be declared dead.

The family was already mourning the death of Afia mother’s who will be buried on February 10, 2024 so it was difficult the accept the sudden demise of another family member.

But, the medical doctor who declared Afia dead stopped the morgue from accepting the body.

He asked the family to write formally acknowledging that indeed their daughter is dead before the body can be deposited at the morgue.

Meanwhile, the family has agreed to submit the letter immediately to preserve the body.

A 17-year-old boy has been allegedly beaten to death by his step-uncles over a missing bag.

The boy was found by his grandmother, Grace Kaguna lying on the grass under a mango tree a few metres from the house of the accused at around 10:am on January 1.

Before he died, Murithi said his step-uncles accused him of stealing a bag and gave him severe beating, according to witness accounts given to police.

Police in Tharaka Nithi County are set to charge two brothers accused of beating their step-nephew, Edwin Murithi, 17, to death in Mariene village in Tharaka Constituency on the night of December 31, 2023.

Samuel Muriuki, a second-year student at Kirinyaga University, and Kelvin Njeru, a graduate of Kenya Medical Training College, were brought before the Marimanti Magistrates Court on Monday after being found mentally fit to face murder charges.

They are now awaiting arraignment at the Chuka High Court.

A post-mortem report seen by the Nation shows that Murithi, an orphan who was studying at Chuka Boys’ High School on Equity Groups Wings to Fly scholarship, died of internal bleeding caused by injuries to several internal organs including the liver and pancreas.

Muriuki was arrested last Saturday in Naivasha, where he was reportedly hiding, while Njeru was arrested on the night of January 2 at their home in Mariene, where he had just returned after the incident.

The boy was found by his grandmother, Grace Kaguna, 70, lying on the grass under a mango tree a few metres from his and the accused’s house at around 10am on January 1.

Murithi died minutes later while the family members were looking for a vehicle to take him to hospital. His body was later taken to the mortuary at Marimanti Level Four Hospital by officers from Tunyai Police Station.

According to family members, before he died, Murithi said his step- uncles accused him of stealing a bag and gave him a heinous beating. This is the account witnesses gave to the police.

On December 31 last year, Murithi was full of life as he waited for the New Year family party organised by his grandmother and other relatives who had gathered at their home to welcome the New Year together.

At around 6:pm, he reportedly walked about two kilometres to the Sahara City Hotel on the Ena-Kathwana-Meru highway to watch football with his enthusiastic village friends.

As his eyes were glued to the screen in excitement, he was allegedly called by his uncles and after leaving the hall, he was forced to board a motorcycle, where he was wedged between the two on the pillion seat, and rushed home at around 10pm.

He was reportedly taken to Muriukis house, where his hands and legs were tied and his uncles beat and kicked him as he lay helpless on the ground. They also reportedly tried to strangle him.

To prevent the neighbours from hearing his cries, the two allegedly covered his mouth with pieces of cloth and after several hours of beating he lost consciousness. When he regained consciousness, he found himself alone in the house with his hands still tied.

The boy reportedly managed to untie himself and, lacking the strength to stand, rolled out of the house on his stomach, but was unable to get past the mango tree where he was found.

“I found him lying on the ground a few metres from the house he was reportedly tortured and though in great pain and with a weak voice, he narrated to us what had happened to him,” Kaguna told the Nation on Wednesday as they prepared to bury Murithi on Thursday.

She said that the bag the deceased was accused of stealing was later found to have been taken by Muriuki’s mother.

Kaguna claimed that the family had been having differences for several years and the accused attackers were not happy after their step-nephew was awarded the Wings to Fly scholarship.

“The deceased scored 354 marks in the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education examination and I had a lot of hope in his education because he was doing very well in secondary school”, said the grandmother who raised the boy after his mother died when he was one and a half years old.

She added that the family had also had land disputes over the years and that they were the only ones in the village who had yet to process title deeds because of the disagreements over how to share the ancestral land.

Kaguna said she also feared for her life as she was now left alone in the house with her almost 100-year-old mother, who is deaf.

Residents have condemned the heinous act and urged the police to conduct a thorough investigation to ensure that the case is watertight and the perpetrators are brought to justice.

In what seems to be a stranger-than-fiction development, local news platforms in Zimbabwe have reported that a man from Cross Dete in Hwange District has developed unusually large breasts after being milked every night by a mysterious creature believed to be a snake.

The man who sought help from Archbishop Emmanuel Mutumwa, the leader and founder of the Johane Masowe eChishanu Apostolic Church based in Bulawayo, believes he developed sagging breasts because he was bewitched.

The man who participated in one of Madzibaba Mutumwa’s cleansing ceremonies, described the bizarre chain of events that led to the growth of his breasts, causing him to resort to wearing oversized clothing in an attempt to hide them.

He said his breasts started growing after he felt an unusual sensation on his chest.

To his disbelief, his breasts continued to grow, and he claimed that a giant strange creature, possibly a snake, sucks milk from them every night. Adding to the eerie circumstances, he described experiencing a phantom touch and pressure against his skin during these nocturnal encounters, which felt as if someone was penetrating him from behind.

Bishop Mutumwa who confirmed the astonishing incident in an interview with B-Metro, affirmed that the man had indeed fallen victim to witchcraft. The Archbishop explained that the man felt a presence engaging in intimate relations with him, indicating that a family member had cast a spell on him.

The cleric said;

“It’s true that he came for help and from the way he was narrating how they are being sucked for milk at night by a snake, it was clear that he was bewitched. The fact that he also felt another man sleeping with him from the back makes it clear that someone from his family cast a spell on him.”

The Archbishop assured that through his prayers, the man would be healed, and his sagging breasts would vanish. He further mentioned that he had assisted numerous individuals who had approached his shrine with similar issues.

A bizarre incident has unfolded at Sehwi Wenchi a suburb of Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai municipality in the Western North region as a sheep gives birth to a two-headed lamb.

The newborn lamb exhibited an abnormality with its two heads, two mouths, four eyes, and two ears.

The owner of the sheep, Adwoa Abrafi, expressed shock at the incident, explaining that this is the first of such occurrence in her over one decade of rearing livestock.

She disclosed her intention to seek the guidance of a spiritualist to ascertain if any ominous signs were associated with the sheep.

Unfortunately, the two-headed offspring did not survive beyond birth.

Municipal veterinary officer, Dr. Emmanuel Kingsley Bassaw, weighed in on possible factors contributing to this abnormality including the ingestion of heavy metals like mercury and cyanide, inbreeding, and inadequate medication.

The area where the incident occurred is recognized for its association with illegal mining activities (galamsey).

Angry gods have allegedly burned the mattress, Multi TV recorder, and other belongings of a woman in her late fifties, accusing her of disobeying the household gods.

The incident happened in Bibiani Old Town.

A few months ago, 15 people were left homeless when their houses were mysteriously set ablaze, believed to be the wrath of family gods.

Spiritual consultations with family members and tenants revealed offenses against the gods, resulting in the continuous burning of their belongings, including missing money.

The family and tenants were advised to vacate the premises until the mysterious burning ceased.

Seeking mercy and protection, they consulted fetish priest Nana Baffour Gyau, who warned against returning to the house.

Meanwhile, a family member residing in the same house, aware of the ongoing events, intentionally sent her husband and son to fetch firewood from the house undergoing renovation.

This act triggered the gods’ anger, leading to the burning of the remaining woods.

The woman’s refusal to return the firewood prompted the gods to burn her mattress and other items in her room.

The gods have issued a warning, demanding the return of the firewood to bring an end to the outbreaks.

A four-month-old baby has been found alive “by the grace of God” his parents said after the child was sucked up into a tornado in Tennessee.

The couple said a deadly tornado on Saturday tore apart their mobile home, picking up a bassinet with the baby still inside of it.

He survived and was discovered in a fallen tree in the pouring rain.

The baby, his one-year-old brother and parents only suffered from minor cuts and bruises.

As the tornado approached, the mother of two, 22-year-old Sydney Moore, said the roof of their mobile home was ripped off.

“The tip of the tornado came down and picked up the bassinet with my baby, Lord, in it,” Ms Moore told a local news station. “He was the first thing to go up.”

Her boyfriend – and the boy’s father – lunged to protect Lord in the bassinet, but ended up getting picked up by the tornado, too.

“He was just holding on to the bassinet the whole time, and they went into circles, he said, and then they got thrown,” Ms Moore said.

As that was happening, Ms Moore grabbed her one-year-old son, Princeton.

“Something in me just told me to run and jump on top of my son,” Ms Moore said. “Literally the moment I jumped on him, the walls collapsed.”

“I was being really crushed. I couldn’t breathe,” Ms Moore recalled.

After the tornado passed, Ms Moore was able to escape the crush of the rubble with Princeton. She and her boyfriend immediately started searching for Lord.

After looking for their baby in the pouring rain, they found the child – alive – in what Ms Moore says “looked like a little tree cradle”.

“I thought he was dead,” Ms Moore said. “I was pretty sure he was dead and we weren’t going to find him.”

“But he’s here, and that’s by the grace of God.”

Ms Moore’s sister, Caitlyn Moore, has started a GoFundMe to help them after the tornado completely destroyed their car and home.

The children and Ms Moore escaped with only minor cuts and bruises, but her boyfriend suffered a broken arm and shoulder, Caitlyn Moore says.

A woman in Zimbabwe has left her community baffled after she invited her alleged married lover to live with her and her husband.

It is rumoured that the woman, Moreblessing Nhema, had been in a relationship with the married man, Stephen, for a long time.

Stephen later moved into the one room that Moreblessing rented with her husband, Beven Nyamoto.

Reports have revealed that, there were allegations the woman had charmed her lover, causing him to accept her bizarre offer.

When accosted by the man’s family, the couple defended that Stephen is Moreblessing’s relative who is only staying with them temporarily.

They argued that, he is currently unemployed and had been ejected by his boss, hence he intends to stay with them until he finds a job.

His wife is said to live in rural areas due to financial strains.

Further checks prove that, Stephen is not related to either of the couple, but he is Moreblessing’s lover.

A cousin of the wife who spoke to H-Metro said she cannot identify Stephen as a member of their family.

A Nigerian student named Jamil Ezebuike, from Anambra State, has found himself entangled in a legal web in the United States of America (USA) for impregnating police women.

Ezebuike, pursuing a course in women’s security at a distinguished university in New Jersey, stands accused of impregnating not one, but four female police officers.

His arrest has sent shock waves through the community, unravelling a complex narrative of deceit and clandestine relationships.

Ezebuike’s journey to the US took shape under the guise of an international student, armed with a non-immigrant study visa.

As an aspiring professional in women’s security, he had seemingly immersed himself in a course that aligns with his academic pursuits.

The intricate tale of his arrest unveils a carefully orchestrated deception.

Operating under the radar, Ezebuike managed to engage romantically with four female police officers simultaneously.

The relationships remained concealed until one of the officers, who had been impregnated by Ezebuike, discovered the truth.

What adds a layer of intrigue to the story is the officer’s decision to investigate further, revealing Ezebuike’s involvement with three other women in the police force.

The revelation prompted the officer to report the situation, leading to Ezebuike’s apprehension by security authorities.

The legal repercussions loom large as he faces the prospect of a court arraignment.

If found guilty, the consequences may extend to deportation back to Nigeria, marking a significant downturn in his academic and personal pursuits.

This incident serves as a poignant reminder of the complexities surrounding international relationships and the ethical considerations that come with studying abroad.

The legal proceedings will not only determine Ezebuike’s fate but also underscore the importance of transparency and adherence to ethical standards, particularly in a cross-cultural academic environment.

As the story unfolds, it casts a spotlight on the intersection of personal choices, legal consequences, and the broader implications for international students navigating foreign educational landscapes.

An Australian man has died after being buried in sand on a beach, authorities say.

Josh Taylor was at a beach campground on Queensland’s Bribie Island on Saturday when he fell into a hole that had been reportedly dug to roast a pig.

Mr Taylor, 23, was airlifted to hospital shortly after the incident but succumbed to his injuries on Thursday.

Authorities are still investigating the circumstances that led to his death.

Queensland Police said in a statement there “may be numerous people who were present and are yet to speak with police”.

Mr Taylor was with friends on Bribie Island – a popular camping area located 65km (40 miles) north of Brisbane – when the incident occurred, according to local media.

The Courier Mail reported it took about 15 people to pull him free, before wildlife rangers performed CPR on him until paramedics arrived at the scene.

Mr Taylor’s family confirmed his life support had been switched off on Thursday.

In an emotional statement, they called him “the best son, brother, boyfriend and mate we could all have wished for” who would be missed “every minute of every day”, Nine News reported.

“Unfortunately, the injuries he received were too severe for him to overcome,” the family statement added, while also thanking hospital staff for their efforts.

In a bold move that unfolded in court, a woman from Harare recently dragged her boyfriend’s wife to court, accusing her of breaching the peace.

According to H-Metro, Fabina Charuwanza initiated legal action against his boyfriend’s wife, Stella Mwenda.

She accused her of breaching the peace by posting pictures of Charuwanza on social media and allegedly stalking her.

Charuwanza stood firm in her plea, demanding the removal of her pictures from Mwenda’s phone and an immediate halt to the dissemination of her images across social platforms. Charuwanza claimed that she did not know that her boyfriend was a married man.

“I didn’t know that they are lawfully wedded because I saw his profile in a singles WhatsApp group,” Charuwanza stated during the proceedings.

Mwenda, who has three children with her husband, did not contest the peace order application. However, she clarified that her actions followed an earnest attempt to locate Charuwanza’s address by searching her home.

“She is my husband’s girlfriend, and I wedded at Rotten Row, and they said that it is a one-wife marriage act and if I find my husband cheating, I should sue his girlfriend,” Mwenda told the court.

Expressing her distress, Mwenda revealed the strain on her marriage, citing her husband’s absence for the past four months and their lack of intimacy due to Charuwanza’s involvement.

“I am not his ex-wife, as she falsely claimed in her submissions. I have three children with him, and she needs to understand that,” Mwenda emphasized.

Following the intense courtroom exchange, Magistrate Sharon Mashavira ruled in favour of Charuwanza, granting her the peace order she sought against Mwenda.

In a shocking turn of events, a self-proclaimed prophetess Ruramai Nhapata, has been accused of assaulting a former church member for rejecting their controversial teachings and leaving the church.

Prophetess Ruramai Nhapata, the leader of Trinity International Fellowship Ministry, allegedly orchestrated the attack alongside her daughters

Ruvimbo who had grown disillusioned by the abuse and indoctrination within the church was severely assaulted by the trio after she decided to leave the church.

Opening up about the assault, Ruvimbo Mugwindidza disclosed to H-Metro, the emotional and physical abuse she endured during her time with the family.

“I have been subjected to emotional and physical abuse by the family while staying at their house to grow their ministry,” Ruvimbo revealed.

She further explained that the family used false teachings to manipulate individuals into joining their ministry, and she could no longer live a life based on falsehoods.

We were being indoctrinated with falsehoods as a way of convincing people to join her ministry. I could not continue living in falsehoods for the sake of free accommodation and free food. I could not continue hardening my heart for the sake of supporting their false spiritual powers and cooked messages of prosperity. She claimed to have angels, who always hover around her since she has been sent by God.”

According to Ruvimbo, the altercation occurred after she made the decision to leave the ministry and bid farewell to the family. In response, the three individuals attacked her, resulting in her sustaining injuries, including a bleeding nose.

“I collected my belongings and bade them farewell, and that is when the three assaulted me until I bled from my nose,” she revealed.

Apostle Nhapata vehemently denied Ruvimbo’s allegations, insisting that she was beaten up for spreading falsehoods.

Matanga futi, Ruvimbo aroverwa makuhwa aakanoita kuna amai vake,” said Apostle Nhapata.

Esther, one of the daughters involved in the assault, admitted to their actions but defended her mother, asking that the focus be shifted away from the Apostle.

Coming to the defence of the Apostle, another church member known as Kamuzunguze claimed that the assault was a form of discipline.

In her words, “Men don’t like to hear that you are going to have more than one child. Even after I was admitted, my man never showed up.

“One time, a very young boy heckled at me saying I had been cursed by my mother to die without a child.

“Many people judged and abused me for being barren but, I decided to leave everything to the Almighty God who has finally answered my prayers.”

Speaking to NTV, the 70-year-old Ms. Namukwaya revealed that this marks her second delivery within in three years, with her firstborn, a girl named Sarah, arriving in 2020.

Although Ms. Namukwaya’s situation is uncommon, it is not unprecedented for a woman to give birth at an older age.

A video capturing a man’s bold confrontation with pastors and their congregation during a church service has gone viral on social media, stirring up discussions about noise pollution during religious gatherings.

The man, visibly frustrated, is seen holding back three foreign-bred dogs to warn the pastors to reduce the noise during their service.

In the video, the man went straight to the pulpit to express his displeasure at the loud prayers and worship.

Rather, the church members continue fervently praying like they are casting out demons, seemingly oblivious to the man’s presence.

After a few minutes of not reaching an agreement, the man decides to leave the premises, but not before making his point.

This incident highlights a growing concern among Ghanaians who reside near churches.

The issue of noise pollution from religious activities has become a subject, with many residents hesitant to report it due to the fear of being labelled as ‘evil’ or anti-religious.

A Nigerian man, Ade Olowopopo, has initiated legal action against his two sons, Kunle and Mayowa, alleging that they assaulted their sister, Bisi Olowopopo, and stole his properties while he was abroad.

The alleged incidents occurred at the family residence in Lakwe Lekki, Lagos State.

The suspects were arraigned at the Ebute Metta Magistrate’s Court on Monday, facing a five-count charge that includes assault, breaking and entering, stealing, and posing a threat to life.

According to the prosecution counsel, Paul Ugorji, the defendants committed the crimes in 2019 while the plaintiff was abroad.

During the purported incident, the brothers reportedly forcibly entered their father’s compound, assaulted their older sister, and drove her out.

Additionally, they allegedly took a block molding machine and a N7 million Toyota 4Runner Jeep without their father’s consent.

The courtroom revelations unveiled an underlying family dispute, with information emerging that the sons belong to Olowopopo’s second wife, with whom he has disagreements, particularly regarding the boys’ paternity.

Paul Ugorji outlined that, the accused violated several sections of the Lagos State 2015 Criminal Laws, including Sections 411, 172, 287, 56, and 168(d).

The charges read, “That you, Adekunle Olowopopo, 35, and Mayowa Olowopopo, 33, sometime in 2019 at Lakwe Lekki, Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did conspire together to commit a felony, to wit assault, stealing, breaking and entry, and conduct likely to cause a breach of peace and thereby committed an offense punishable under Section 411 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”

Magistrate O. M. Ajayi accepted the petition and granted the accused sons bail. They were each released on a bail amount of N40,000 with one responsible surety.

The Pharmacy Council has shut down over 100 pharmaceutical shops in Ghana between September and November for operating illegally and prescribing the wrong medications.

The Council’s Deputy Registrar, Dr. Daniel Danquah, said that the Council is committed to enforcing its laws and will continue to take action against pharmacies that do not comply.

“About 10 companies have gone through the disciplinary procedure; others were closed. When they complied, it was opened at the regional level. So those reports don’t come to us directly.

But if you are trying to put together facilities that have been closed down within the year, it is a lot. We can have 100 closed down in two or three months,” the Deputy Registrar at the Pharmacy Council said.

The Council has been working to crack down on illegal pharmacies in recent months.

In July this year, the Council shut down a pharmacy in the Ashanti Region, following the death of a 5-year-old child.

He was reportedly delivered the wrong treatment at Life Dream Pharmacy in Kenyasi-Adwumam, in the Kwabre East Municipality of the Ashanti Region

The Council is also working to improve the quality of pharmacy services in Ghana.

It has developed a new training programme for pharmacists and is working to strengthen the regulatory framework for pharmacies.

Mr. Danquah said that the Council is committed to working with pharmacies to ensure that they are operating in compliance with the law.

The founder of Christ High Commission Church, Pastor Noah Abraham, has been accused of snatching and impregnating the wife of his choir master.

The church choir coordinator, Dare Ikuenayo, made the allegation while speaking with Vanguard News.

He said the pastor announced in the church that he had taken the his wife and there was nothing anybody could do.

Ikuenayo said the cleric deceitfully snatched the mother of his three when he told him that she had the gift of prophecy and she should allow her to stay with him.

“I joined the church in Kabba, Kogi State, but one day, the pastor called me and notified me that my wife had a gift of prophecy that I should allow her to stay with him for a month and work for God which I obliged,” Ikuenayo said.

“Suddenly, I noticed that my wife was not even willing to see or talk to me. While I was trying to make the issue public, the pastor announced in the church that he had taken my wife and no one could take her from him. I tried my best to no avail until he impregnated her and moved her into his house fully” he bemoaned.

Meanwhile the man of God has been arrested by operatives of the Ekiti State Police Command in collaboration with the National Agency for Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NPTIP) for allegedly abducting more than nine persons including children.

He was also in the news last year for coercing his followers to pay over N300,000 as ‘ticket to Heaven’

Speaking to Voice of America (VOA), Petronella Moyo said her 18-month-old child was playing in their Matabeleland home when the incident occurred last week.

She said she heard her son screaming and when she looked up, the baboon was dragging him away.

The baboon jumped on top of the house with her son hanging from its mouth and she said: “I feared the worst. I thought he was dead”.

But she chased the baboon and managed to get her child back.

Ms Moyo’s son sustained a few injuries but is expected to make a full recovery at Gwanda Provincial Hospital.

Baboons are generally indifferent to humans, but they do attack when provoked, and are potentially very dangerous because of their sharp teeth and claws.

In a startling turn of events in Harare, a man identified as Maxmillan Tapiwa Kondowe has sued his father-in-law, Charles Bandera, aiming to get a full refund of bride price he paid.

The dispute arose following the distressing revelation that his bride-to-be was involved in an affair and cheated on him before their wedding ceremony.

He made a legal case, demanding for the refund of significant sum of US$2,700 as well as other items he presented.

Detailing the sequence of events to the civil court, Kondowe explained that he made the payment in March 2021, however, he faced a stipulation from the bride’s father, requiring him not to live with his wife-to-be until after their formal wedding ceremony.

Zimlive reports that merely two months later, Kondowe stumbled upon WhatsApp messages on his wife’s phone indicating her involvement with another man.

A confrontation ensued, wherein she allegedly confessed to the infidelity, prompting Kondowe to terminate the marriage and seek a full refund.

His father-in-law, upon being served the summons, failed to present a defense, resulting in a default judgment against him.

Police operatives in Adamawa State have arrested a 20-year-old housewife, Amina Hassan, who allegedly set her husband’s house ablaze over his refusal to divorce her.

Hassan is said to have married Muhammed Auwal about five weeks ago after he agreed to divorce her shortly after their marriage ceremony.

Speaking with police, she said: “We made an arrangement that he would divorce me after the marriage. I met him and pleaded with him to divorce me, but he remained adamant.

He descended on me and started beating me instead of divorcing me, as a result of which I lost my temper and set the house ablaze.”

DailyPost reports that, a few days before the wedding, Amina had informed her parents that she was no longer interested in the marriage.

However, her parents insisted there was no turning back as they had already distributed invitation cards.

Sources close to her said that after all her efforts failed, she sought help from a native doctor to turn her husband’s heart away from her, only for the husband to fall in love with her all over again.

To escape her anger, the native doctor is said to have fled Mubi and made his phone number inaccessible.

The owners of a Colorado funeral home are accused of giving fake cremated remains to some bereaved families, among other allegations.

Jan and Carie Hallford were arrested by authorities in Oklahoma on Wednesday.

Authorities found 190 sets of decaying remains last month in the couple’s funeral home in Penrose, some dating back to 2019.

They are facing charges of abuse of a corpse, theft, money laundering and forgery.

Authorities began investigating the Return to Nature Funeral Home on 4 October after neighbours reported a foul smell spreading from the facility.

Investigators entered to find “abhorrent” conditions with dozens of stacked bodies, some of which had been there for years.

At a press conference on Wednesday, District Attorney Michael Allen said authorities would not be releasing many details in order to protect the ongoing investigation. He described the details of the case as “absolutely shocking”.

Some relatives are also believed to have received fake cremated remains of their deceased loved ones.

“Law enforcement now knows the cremains each family was given could not have been their loved one,” according to court documents obtained by the Associated Press.

Families have been contacted by the FBI and asked to give samples of the ashes they received for investigators to analyse.

“We will never know what our families are actually carrying. Some of them may be concrete dust, some of them may be other things,” said Chrystina Page, whose son’s body was among those found inside the funeral home, told the BBC’s US media partner CBS.

“We won’t ever know so I can’t even describe the emotions our families are going through,” Ms Page said.

Mr and Mrs Hallford are being held in jail on a $2m (£1.6m) cash bond.

Their arrest warrant said they are facing about 190 counts of abuse of a corpse, five counts of theft, four counts of money laundering and over 50 counts of forgery, all felonies.

They are scheduled for an initial court appearance on 9 November on a federal fleeing charge.

All decedents located at the Colorado funeral home were removed on 13 October and transported to the El Paso County Coroner’s Office.

Fremont County Coroner Randy Keller said 110 bodies have been positively identified but that work continues to identify the other 80.

Mr Keller said corpses are being identified through fingerprints, dental records, medical hardware, and DNA testing “if necessary”.

Colorado Gov Jared Polis released a statement following the Hallford’s arrest: “I am relieved that criminal charges have been brought against the funeral home owner and a criminal investigation is proceeding.

“I know this will not bring peace to the families impacted by this heart-wrenching incident but we hope the individuals responsible are held fully accountable in a court of law.”

A man has been shot dead in Nigeria’s north-eastern Bauchi state while a so-called bullet-proof charm – or “gun medicine” – was being tested on him by a traditional healer, police spokesman Ahmed Wakil has said.

The healer – who allegedly fired the shot with a locally made gun – has been arrested, along with two other suspects, while other suspects are on the run, he added.

The test on the efficacy of the “gun medicine” occurred on 43-year-old villager Muhammadu Ali, Supt Wakil said.

Police rushed to the scene as soon as they heard of the shooting, and took Mr Ali to hospital, but he was pronounced dead on arrival, the police spokesman added.

He warned the public against being used as “cannon fodder”.

The suspects will be charged to court after investigations are concluded, Supt Wakil said.

Charms believed to have magic powers are commonly used in Nigeria, where many people consult traditional healers over a wide variety of issues.

But there have been several reports of people being killed after testing so-called bullet-proof charms and medicines.

An Australian farmer says he is lucky to be alive after repelling a crocodile attack by biting back at the animal.

Cattle producer Colin Deveraux has spent a month in hospital after being bitten by the 3.2m (10ft) saltwater crocodile in the Northern Territory.

He told ABC News he bit the crocodile’s eyelid in his struggle to survive.

Mr Deveraux said his ordeal began after he stopped at a billabong (lake) while he was travelling to build fencing near the Finniss River last month.

He paused by the lake after noticing fish swimming in the middle of its retreating waters. After he stepped away again, the crocodile “latched” onto his right foot, shaking him like a “rag doll” and pulling him into the water.

Mr Deveraux told ABC he first tried kicking the crocodile in the ribs with his other foot – before biting the reptile back.

“I was in such an awkward position… but by accident my teeth caught his eyelid. It was pretty thick, like holding onto leather, but I jerked back on his eyelid and he let go.

“I leapt away and took off with great steps up to where my car was. He chased me for a bit, maybe four metres, but then stopped.”

Mr Deveraux said he used a towel and some rope to stop the bleeding in his leg, before his brother drove him 130km (80 miles) north to the Royal Darwin Hospital.

“If he [the crocodile] had bitten me somewhere else it would have been different,” he said.

“It means I’ve got to change what I do. I’ve been walking around that swamp country too long fixing fences and living life, but it’s opened my eyes.”

According to the local government, crocodiles are the basis for an important industry in the Northern Territory and are protected by law.

They are considered to be of huge scientific and human interest as well as a valuable tourist attraction.

The last fatal crocodile attack happened in April this year on the Kennedy River in Cape York Peninsula, Queensland.

A Chinese woman was recently charged with fraud for allegedly cheating three men out of nearly $100,000 by marrying them in staged ceremonies, despite being already legally married.

The 35-year-old fraudster was already married and raising a daughter when she started dating other men with the specific purpose of defrauding them.

It is unclear what drove the woman to a life of constant pretending, because, according to Chinese media, her husband had his own business and the family had a good financial situation. One thing is for sure, though, one of the factors that allowed the woman, known only as Zhou, to juggle between four husbands over several years was the fact that her real husband was always busy with work and didn’t pay too much attention to his wife.

Zhou reportedly started looking for prospective husbands a few years ago, and her good looks quickly caught the eye of three gullible men who never suspected her true intentions. She dated them all at the same time, managing to spend time with all of them without raising the suspicion of her real husband, before asking them to marry.

Because registering the marriages to her marks would have revealed the fact that she was already married, Zhou used a clever lie to bypass the civil proceedings. She told the men that her house had been illegally demolished and that she needed to remain single in order to be eligible for compensation.

Apparently, none of them thought this was suspicious, especially since she was really good at pretending that she genuinely wanted to marry them, and insisted that the wedding ceremony was what truly mattered.

In reality, she only cared about the wedding ceremonies because she wanted to collect the gifts and money from the attendants. She went to great lengths to ensure that the weddings went through without a hitch, hiring actors to act as her friends and family during the festivities, and apparently, no one suspected a thing. She even paid many of the actors to come visit her and her fake husbands over the years, in or to maintain appearances.

Zhou’s plan came crashing down last year, when she tried to squeeze more money out of one of her fake husbands, a man called Zhang, by telling him that she was pregnant with twins. She told him that she wanted to give birth with her mother in another city, asking him to pay for all the expenses, while he remained home to work.

She constantly sent him pictures of fake checkup results and even photos of newborn babies she downloaded from the internet. It was when Zhang came to see his babies with his own mother that Zhou’s problems began.

In order to trick her fake husband and mother-in-law, Zhou hired another actor to play the doctor who delivered her twins, but when he couldn’t answer their questions or produce the twin babies, Zhang began to suspect that something was wrong. He finally ran a background check on Zhou and was shocked to learn that she was already legally married. He called the police and Zhou’s fake life came crashing down.

After hearing about his wife’s secret life of crime, Zhou’s husband divorced her back in April. She now faces a minimum of 10 years in prison for fraud, as an investigation revealed that she cheated her three fake husbands out of at least 660,000 yuan ($92,000).

Although the full details of how Zhou managed to juggle four marriages, one of her most frequent excuses for leaving home was that she was leaving for training with the company she worked for.

A startling and unsettling discovery unfolded in a park in Lagos State as local residents came upon a deceased man who was found standing.

An eyewitness, who gave his name as Wahab, told Punch that he saw the yet-to-be-identified man standing and leaning on the wall of the garage in the morning when some of the truck drivers came to pick up their trucks.

There were no bruises or signs of physical violence on the body of the deceased who was only wearing black shorts.

The eyewitness said, “When we got to the truck garage on Tuesday morning, around 8:30 am, we saw a young man; he was just wearing some dirty black shorts, standing and resting his head on the wall of the school where people park their trucks, thinking that he was still sleeping.

“He looked rough and unkempt. Someone went to tap him so that he could wake up and leave the place but when he touched him, the man didn’t move. Tapped him again, but he didn’t move.

“It was on observing him closely that we found out that the guy had died while standing. He didn’t even look like someone who had died.

“Immediately, someone went to the police station in Ojodu to report. Then, the police came and took his body away.”

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed the incident to the publication.

He said, “The corpse was evacuated and deposited at the Mainland Hospital mortuary Yaba for an autopsy while efforts are made to identify who him.”

Lawrence Faucette, the second living person to receive a genetically modified pig heart in a transplant, has died six weeks after the experimental procedure.

The University of Maryland Medical Center, where the experimental procedure had been performed, said the heart began to show signs of rejection in recent days.

Mr. Faucette’s last wish was for us to make the most of what we have learned from our experience, so others may be guaranteed a chance for a new heart when a human organ is unavailable. He then told the team of doctors and nurses who gathered around him that he loved us. We will miss him tremendously,” Dr. Bartley Griffith, clinical director of the Cardiac Xenotransplantation Program at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, said in a statement.

Faucette, 58, was first admitted to UMMC on September 14 after experiencing symptoms of heart failure and underwent the experimental transplant six days later. His heart disease and pre-existing conditions made him ineligible for a traditional human heart transplant.

“My only real hope left is to go with the pig heart, the xenotransplant,” Faucette told the hospital in an internal interview several days before the surgery.

“We have no expectations other than hoping for more time together,” his wife, Ann Faucette, said at the time. “That could be as simple as sitting on the front porch and having coffee together.”

In the weeks that immediately followed the transplant, his doctors reported that he was making significant progress, including participating in physical therapy and spending time with this family.

One month after his surgery, his doctors said they believed his heart function was excellent and had withdrawn any drugs to support his heart function.

“We’ve had no evidence of infections and no evidence of rejection right now,” Griffith said at the time.

Doctors had treated Faucette with an experimental antibody treatment to further suppress the immune system and prevent rejection. However organ rejection is “the most significant challenge with traditional transplants involving human organs as well,” said UMMC in a statement.

In a statement regarding her husband’s passing, Ann thanked those involved in her husband’s care at UMMC.

“Larry started this journey with an open mind and complete confidence in Dr. Griffith and his staff. He knew his time with us was short, and this was his last chance to do for others,” she said.

According to the federal government, there are more than 113,000 people on the organ transplant list, including more than 3,300 people in need of a heart. The group Donate Life America says that 17 people die each day waiting for a donor organ.

In January 2022, the University of Maryland also performed the first such experimental surgery on 57-year-old David Bennett, who died two months following the surgery. While there were no signs of rejection in the initial weeks following the transplant, an autopsy concluded that Bennett ultimately died of heart failure from “a complex array of factors,” including Bennett’s condition prior to the surgery. A case study published in the Lancet also noted there was evidence of pig virus that had not been identified previously.

In a rather bizarre incident which unfolded in Zimbabwe, a landlady conspired with her tenant identified as Kenny Tore, 49 to fake his death.

Kenny and his landlady, Concilia Tabvunya, orchestrated this audacious scheme in a ploy to force his relatives to settle his backdated rent and unpaid bills, totaling US$380, which had accrued over the course of four months.

Kenny confirmed to H-Metro that he willingly agreed to participate in this ruse to compel his elder brother to repay his outstanding debts.

It was Concilia who took the initiative to send a fabricated message to Kenny’s family, falsely informing them of his supposed demise.

The message reached Kenny’s ex-wife, who, unaware of the prank, began the process of procuring a funeral policy for her former spouse.

“It’s true that I phoned Kenny’s relatives, after agreeing with him, informing them about a fake death because he has been suffering with his brother not paying him his dues,” Concilia confirmed.

When Kenny’s family members arrived at the house to mourn his “passing,” they were met with the shocking revelation.

However, the plan backfired as the family were unable to pay the accumulated rent and bills, forcing the landlady to expose their plot.

“My children are farm workers, so they do not earn much. I pleaded with my landlady until we agreed to fake my death. They came in their numbers, but all of them failed to settle my rentals,” a disappointed Kenny revealed.

A man in his 70’s is nursing injuries after his daughter-in-law engaged him in a fist fight over grazing land in Migori.

Kajulu Two Chief Charles Onindo said that the two suffered deep cut injuries following the incident.

“I rushed to the scene in Onge’nga area after receiving a tip-off from members of the public,” Onindo said.

The incident happened in Kenya.

The 24-year-old woman is said to have taken her cattle to graze, with the old man accusing her of doing so at his farm without his authority.

The septuagenarian, identified only as Auko, attacked the woman with a panga only for her to retaliate, hacking on the hand.

“The matter is still under investigation, after which necessary action will be taken,” the chief added.

The old man is still hospitalized following the fight with his daughter-in-law.

Authorities have appealed to locals to seek better ways of handling disputes.

“I will lead a meeting with the family once the old man is discharged in efforts to reconcile the two,” Onindo noted.

A 53-year-old Russian woman sparked outrage in her home republic of Tatarstan by tying the knot with a 22-year-old man whom she had raised for the last eight years.

Aisylu Chizhevskaya-Mingalim, a well-known musician in Tatarstan and the niece of famous singer Renata Ibragimov, found herself at the center of a massive scandal after reportedly marrying her adopted son.

Eight years ago, while teaching music in the orphanages of Kazan, Aisylu met Daniil, a 13-year-old boy who shared her passion for music, and after a few lessons, the two became a duet.

The boy also participated in various reality talent shows, such as the “You’re Super!” project, and sang with popular Russian singer Filip Kirkorov.

When he was 14, Daniil became the singer’s foster child, and they have lived together ever since. However, on October 20, the two shocked the world when they legally became married.

“Our marriage is on a completely different level, a family united by creativity cannot be destroyed,” Aisylu Chizhevskaya-Mingalim told Russian journalists, adding that people don’t really understand the situation.

In truth, the union between the 53-year-old singer and her 22-year-old foster son sparked controversy in the Republic of Tatarstan, with some calling Chizhevskaya-Mingalim a “disgrace” to the country.

Authorities were so outraged by the union that they took the singer’s five other foster children and placed them in orphanages around Kazan. She has since been making efforts to visit them and hopefully get them back.

Aisylu Chizhevskaya-Mingalim explained that there had long been rumors regarding her relationship with Daniil, so she decided to put them all to rest with this marriage.

However, the 53-year-old woman said that their union is not really what it means. While their marriage is genuine, it is only spiritual in nature, not physical, as many assumed.

“When difficult times came, I was simply afraid for Daniel,” Aisylu Chizhevskaya-Mingalim said. “He was created for music, not for war, but at the same time, he is at the age when young men should take up arms. I began to think about how to protect him. I consulted with some acquaintances and they suggested this move to me – to marry him. In an informal conversation, of course. ”

“Daniil is already an adult, and together we have five adopted children and my biological son, six minor children,” the 53-year-old woman added.  “Thus, Daniil becomes a father of many children and remains at home.”

Asked if her marriage to Daniil was fake, the Russian woman said that the union was legit and that they were indeed a couple.

However, their relationship is more spiritual, and not at all physical. Unfortunately, very few have come to realize this.
